As a part of its commitment to fair and transparent government, the Queensland Government wishes to consult with stakeholders about a proposal to declare a part-day public holiday on Christmas Eve (24 December) from 6pm to 12 midnight.
As part of that process, the Queensland Government wishes to engage with stakeholders including employer groups; individual employers; industrial organisations and workers; relevant peak bodies; academic researchers and the community, and has released a Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement to consider the benefits and costs of the part-day public holiday, and seek stakeholder comment.
Focus questions at the beginning of this document may assist in framing your feedback, however these focus questions are not intended to limit your feedback.
You are invited to have your say about the investigation of a part-day public holiday on Christmas Eve (24 December).
Written submissions on this proposal and the Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement can be lodged with the Office of Industrial Relations until 4pm Monday 2 September 2019.
