To ensure its continued contribution to economic growth the Queensland Government is committed to the development and long-term viability of the building and construction industry in Queensland. This commitment embraces a wide range of initiatives dealing with issues such as:
- licensing
- dispute resolution
- security of payment
- tendering and selection processes
- work health and safety
- skill development.
The Queensland Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry (PDF, 355KB) (the Code) was updated in September 2026 following the commencement of the Queensland Procurement Policy 2026 (QPP 2026) on 1 January 2026, and the end of the Queensland Government Building and Construction Training Policy on 30 June 2026.
